I was going to go to bed, but decided to walk up to Waterstones instead and line up with the rest of the fans and get the book. it was quite fun joining in the furore and I took it home and started to read it straight away...... I have now finished it and can get back to normal programming.

Ascot Races 23rd June 2007

You can't tell, but it was pouring with rain for some of the day!! My friends piked on the day, but luckily Mic and Amy were still going so I joined them and headed out to Ascot. The train was absolutely packed!! I scalped a ticket once I got there, we all headed into the Silver Ring, grabbed a couple of tables and set up our picnic... hoummous hoummous and more hoummous!! I think we'd all bought it for a snack!! Lotsa champers and Pimms. Very glad that we were under cover as when it rained it was torrential!!

Amy was the lucky gal of the day so I followed her lead and picked the same horse she did on the last race and won!! YAY!!

After the races were over we headed back into Clapham and spent the night dancing in the Grand.

It was a lovely day... one of the only nice ones this summer so far!!

Linda's Farewell 8 - 10th June 2007

Phew!!!! mick and kirsti had spent 3 days back in ireland sorting out last minute things and picking up left luggage. They got back in Thurdsday and Friday Kerri joined us and we drove up to Llangollen for the weekend. Saturday Linda and I picked up Mic, Michelle and Amy from Wrexham train station and we then chilled and had a picnic by the river. It was such a lovely afternoon as we strolled along the canal into Llangollen town passing by a family of ducks and several horse drawn boats.

Saturday night was spent eating and drinking (Mick was BBQ maestro extrodinaire). Kerri and I decided to head into town to see what we could see and ran into old pals and again spent the night in town.. Sunday was not pretty.... Sooooo hungover!! spent the day sleeping whilst everyone else hiked in the hills around Lindas' home, Kerri and I then encouraged Mick to drive us back to London......

May Long Weekend in Llangollen 5th 6th 7th May 2007

Linda had invited us up to Llangollen for a weekend of planting and partying. The 5 of us girls headed up Friday night and had a lovely time walking around Llangollen and planting plants in the garden (I use the term garden very loosely!!). It was Anna's birthday on the Saturday so we had a little b'day cake and headed into town that evening to see what we could see....

Anna and I ended up crashing at a pal's house for thenight and hiked back up the hill the next morning (since we didn't take our phones or spare cash we had no way of contacting anyone!! OOps!)

So the Sunday was spent recovering and more sightseeing around the area. Michelle McGimpsey, Kerri and i headed up to Plas Newyyd for a look around and ran into a game of Viking Kub. What fun we had knocking down logs and it must've been beginners luck as we won the game!!

ANZAC day at the dawn service 25th April 2007

5am the service began at the Australian War Memorial near the Wellington Monument at Hyde Park Corner. There were a couple thousand Kiwis and Aussies that attended and it was quite a solemn affair. The service went for a halfhour after which we were able to sign the guest register and have some coffee and ANZAC biscuit.

So I decided to come back to London early which meant that I had an 8 hour stopover in LA! Fun fun! i forgot that the Oscars were on so I got to see them preparing the red carpet and putting up the big gold statues on Hollywood Boulevard. It was trippy walking thru the streets that I used to know back in 2000. So much has changed along that part of the strip!!

I headed downtown for some sightseeing and shopping.. but didn't manage to spend any money!! shock horror!

It's been about 2 years since I've seen everyone and once again we headed to the Palace in Coogee for some cheap cocktails and chats... sadly the cocktail hour was over by the time we got there so it was wines and whines all night.. (heh he just kidding.. I was trying to be clever..).

I had a lovely time catching up with the gang and eating and drinking.. If you are in Sydney and want a cheap meal there is a place in Coogee called Restaurant 5-0 that does $5 meals.. all u have to do is buy a $5 drink too!! sooo cheap!

Thanx for coming out everyone and I'll see you all next year when I'm home again!!

phew!! what a day! Bright and sunny, but there was a lot of wind around.. hence the sexy getup. beanie and sun hat.. great combo!!

Decided to do the long hike from the top of the chairlift in Thredbo, up to Mt koscuiszko and around the Main track to Charlotte's pass and then back up the ranger track and down to the charilift again...phew!! i'm exhausted just thinking about it again!! Longest hike I've done in a while and I figured that since the chairlift was only open from 8:30am to 5pm I'd better get a move on and walk walk walk... There was no way I was going to hike an extra 5km back down the hill to Thredbo Village... not after 30km already... i think I would've had to roll down the hill......

It was a great hike, but I couldn'tmovefor the next few days.. really sore muscles. but I've survived and now have to find the next hike... maybe Mt Snowdon in Wales again???

What a stunning day! Brooke and Tuck looked amazing and the weather was fantastic! The ceremony took place on one of the bridges in Thredbo Village and then we walked to the village green for nibbles. There the obligatory Australia Day Cricket match was being played and a dj was playing tunes to keep everyone entertained. I had my first lamington since being home and hoisted a few glasses of champagne to the newly weds...

There were a few people there that I hadn't seen since high school so it was lovely to catch up and chat about life and what's been going on.

CONGRATULATIONS BROOKE AND TUCK!

Anyway I was down at their place for another great houseparty! There were heaps of cocktails and food and cocktails and chatting and cocktails!! Before I knew it it was 5 am and time to head home.. So what did I do? Yep hop on my bicycle and ride home.... There's a lost hour in there for when I got home it was 6 am and I had a few bruises... hmmm must've been the cocktails.. usually i ride quite well!! hehe.... Howeverilook nothing like poor Lisa and I should've learnt from her example.. but it was fun!!

Phew what a day! There were 10 of us for Xmas Lunch, but first thing in the morning was the Champagne Breakfast! Yum! Pancakes, Croissants, French Toast. Yum!

Lunch was Turkey and Beef Roasts with all the vegies. I'd had a great week budgeting and buying food and getting it in order for Xmas. Nadine was the gal with the cooking times so between us we put on a feast fit for ... well maybe 12 people!! heh heh. We were certainly stuffed at the end of it all!

Nadine had gotten me a ticket to see Snow patrol so off to the Wembley Arena we went. It was amisty night and sooo cold!! Thank goodness that with 5000 people inside the arena it soon warmed up. We had seats up the back so had a great view over the arena down onto the floor and to the band.

Kaie and Kairi flew in from Estonia for the weekend to see the sights, shop and take photos. We shopped on oxford street, and kings Rd but the most popular by far was Primark in Hammersmith! hehheh

We met up with Barbara and went to Tiger Tiger for the Saturday night. It was one of her friends' birthday's but it was so crowded in there that they went elsewhere and left us to boogie the night away.

The Sunday night I met the girls in Jewel in Piccadilly Circus and we had a couple of drinks. I wasf itting in with the Estonian theme and wearing the Estonian t-shirt the girls gave me. Kaie and kairi seemed to keep running into Estonian people and Jewel was no exception. Mart Sanders who is very popluar over there was in town to give a performance at the Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian Embassy. I'd had a couple of drinks by that stage and was quite happy to go up to him and say Teré and Tervesex! (hello and cheers.. not the correct spelling!) and chat for a while. He gave me his CD! Score! Chatted to a couple of Swedish blokes who were quite suprised that I didn't know where Sweden was on the map since I was from Estonia... oops! Corrected them and went out to take photos of St Paul's before heading back to send Kaie and Kairi home.

2nd Dec - 7th Dec Food food and more food in Germany!

mmm yum!! I flew from Barcelona to Cologne to take advantage of the Xmas Markets and drink Gluwhein. hoo boy! I stuffed myself silly for 5 days. Waffles, Bratwurst, Potato fritters, chocolate dipped strawberries, pork roll, pretzels and more!

I spent the first day wandering through the Chocolate Museum and around the Xmas markets. Themarkets all started to look the same after a while, but i tasted the Gluwhein numeroustimes! It wasgood. still I prefer the White instead of the red Gluwhein. The Lindt Chocolate Museum was great! Not enough free chocolate samples though.

I had 5 days in Germany so spent the next 3 days exploring Munster, Aachen and Bonn. It was lovely!

The highlight of the trip for me was I think seeing inside St Ursula's Church and seeing the bones on the walls. There is a rich Roman history in Cologne too. During WW2 a bunker was being dug for shelter and they discovered a mosaic from the Roman days... holy moly!

28th Nov - 2nd Dec Barcelona!

I headed off for slightly sunnier climes hoping to see the Gaudi Architecture that I'd caught glimpse of 3 years previously. The last time I was there it was scorching hot .. too hot for me... this time it was perfect! About 20 degrees and sunny. I spent a day on the sightseeing bus orientating myself and then walked and metroed it to see Parc Guell, La Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, The Dragon gate and more! did the cultural thang and went to the Jean Miro Museum.... but was more interested in the Alexander Calder sculptures!

I took advantage of the hostel activities and watched Flamenco Dancing and ate Tapas. Also took a spanish cooking course and learnt how to make Sangria, Paella and Gazpacho. YUM!

If you ever want a great place to go for a party head to Cactus Blue! ( www.cactusblue.co.uk ) it was a great venue and I'd booked out the Sunken Lounge down the back for the evening. It held about 30 people which was fine since I had about 25 throughout the evening. As you can see i got somewhat glamourised and had a fun time pretending to be fabulous dahling!! (except for the random wet patch!!??) I'd made some photo collages of everyone and had them stuck up around the place (did you all see yourselves??) and

Big Thank-You to Lisa who organised the Birthday cake for me it was delicious!!! Sponge cake filled with jam and cream and the champagne bottle was chocolate cake!! Yummo!!!

A big thank-you to everyone who came along and made the night very special to me, I love you all! Cheers to Cactus Blue for a fab venue, great music and yummy nibbles. And here's to everyone else out there!!

Scarily the next we found out there was a shooting not 50 metres from where we ended the night!! oooh!!
